Have you ever felt like you were just dragging from day to day?  Everything you see is the same.  You just need to recharge your battery.  Well, if not, your one of the lucky ones!  We all need something to get us excited again.  We just need something to remind us of the glory of the world around us.  I had that this weekend at the Retail Jewelers Organization show in Nashville.

Okay, not only was the show in one of the best locations ever, Opryland Resort, where the weather is always good, but the over all theme for the show was “Reboot”.  Cute right, boots in Nashville, but it was really about the new ways that the jewelry business is moving.  How things are starting to change from the charm of your mom and pop stores of old to the new cold land of the internet.  On the bright side, you can have both!  Sure there are some really cool websites out there, but what is it you’re really seeing?  A picture (which more than likely is a computer image of perfection) of a piece of jewelry with some little “sparkle” stars on the edge to act like it’s the most powerful brightness EVER!  Truth is you have no idea what it really looks like.  In order to see what it looks like you have to buy it and hope it’s good.  Why do that? Would you buy a car without driving it?  Would you just pick a doctor without meeting him face to face?  Don’t spend money on something you can’t hold, feel, and see before buying it.  This is true especially when it’s big money.  I will always be more than happy to have anything shipped into my store so that you can see it BEFORE you have to spend a dollar.  Get the "ice" without the cold.    

This is how I see the internet.  It’s great.  I love it.  I can learn a lot. 
But it doesn’t make me an expert.  Sure I can try really hard to learn how to do something.  I can read all about the subject, watch videos, chat with people who clam to know all about the subject, read reviews.  But it still doesn’t make me an expert.  Would you do plastic surgery on yourself just because you watched a video on the wonders of super glue?  Believe it or not, there are people who do.  I know that’s an extreme, but the same applies to jewelry.  It takes years, not minutes, to know what makes a diamond a good diamond.  By all means, please read about the 4Cs.  I’ve got a whole page on my website that in on the subject.  Yet take the pressure off of yourself and let the expert help you.  It’s free!  If you could have Bill Gates walk you through how to make billions of dollars for free, wouldn’t you take him up on it?  Well, how about you let me help you make the right purchase for the money.  I don’t want to see you get taken for a ride. I am a person that you can look me in the eye.  I want you to have the most beautiful pieces of jewelry that will steal your own glances much less the people around you.  I want your breath to be taken away every time you see it. I want your money to go to the buy the best possible value.  I want to work hard to find you the most wonderful treasure that your heart desires.  You’re worth the extra mile.  You deserve the extra mile.  I will not only do that for you, but I will go beyond.
